Carolina Farmhouse Dairy is a small, first generation farm just north of Durham, NC. We are located on 15 acres, managing and maintaining North Carolina’s first farmstead yogurt dairy farm, with our beautiful herd of Jersey cows.
In 2011, my three sons and I began farming. The decision to leave a corporate career and urban lifestyle was made largely due to a growing awareness of the multifaceted benefits of producing our own food. The revitalization of responsible eating has instilled an understanding of the critical role that small farms and businesses play in the local economy. Most importantly, how vital local food is to the security of our communities.
Our love for cows significantly impacted our desire to build a farmstead yogurt business, and in the fall of 2015 we broke ground on what has been established as Carolina Farmhouse Dairy. The farm’s friendly herd of Jersey cows graze on a variety of grasses year-round and are supplemented with organic, locally milled feed. All of the ingredients used for our yogurt are certified organic – from the fruit to the cane sugar. We strive to support local and are committed to sustainability.
